Vehicle identification
The UHF Windshield Tag is a vehicle identification tag offering cost-effective, long-range identification for security and parking applications. This passive RFID sticker is specifically designed for applications where convenience, security, and smooth vehicle flow are essential.
Powered by proven uPASS technology, the tag enables organizations to efficiently manage vehicles and grant secure access. Based on passive UHF technology (± 900 MHz), it can be identified from up to 15 meters* (50 ft) by uPASS Target or from up to 10 meters* (33 ft) by uPASS Go. The UHF Windshield Tag doesn’t contain a battery and is maintenance free.
Note: custom format tags have a different physical appearance than pre-programmed tags. Tag ID numbers and barcodes for custom format tags are printed on the non-adhesive side of the tag.
*In combination with the uPASS Target reader. The maximum read range depends on reader type, the installation and the environment.
What is an UHF windshield tag?
The UHF windshield tag is a passive UHF RFID sticker that is easily affixed to the inside of a vehicle’s windshield. Since it contains no battery, it offers a secure and maintenance-free identification solution. The tag is based on EPC Gen2 technology and supports secure authentication via EPC Gen2 v2, making it a cost-effective and future-proof solution for companies seeking reliable access control.
Read range & performance
The UHF windshield tag offers a read range of up to 15 meters when used with the uPASS Target reader, and up to 10 meters with the uPASS Go. Actual performance may vary depending on installation and the surrounding environment, but in practice it ensures fast and error-free vehicle identification. Thanks to EPC Gen2 and EPC Gen2 v2 support, users benefit from high reliability, secure authentication, and seamless integration with existing systems. EPC Gen2 v2 provides enhanced security by protecting the tag against copying and cloning, effectively preventing misuse of counterfeit tags.
